Charity is a funny thing in our society. We are surrounded by messages of lack every day, in our advertising, in our news, even in our discussions. Lack is a form of fear, which is ultimately generated by our Negative Ego and is disempowering. Fear is the illusion of the absence of the Divine, and it is our divinity which makes us powerful. Perception dictates reality, so allowing yourself to live in the illusion of lack transcends any reality of prosperity that might exist in your life.
When it comes to fear, the only way out is through. That is to say that action is what dissipates it. So be charitable, regardless of what’s going on. Charity doesn’t have to be money, by the way; it can be time, it can be goods. There are many ways we can give of ourselves and shift our perception into one of abundance. Don’t discount whatever you can do to help a cause.
If you can put yourself into a mindset of abundance when your funds are more meager, that abundance will carry with you as your resources grow. If you can donate money, donate, even if it’s just a few dollars. Money is merely a physical representation of an exchange of energy and is, therefore, sensitive to energy fluctuations in your life. By contributing to a select charity or two, you keep the flow of abundance in your life and avoid stagnation, which will stop money from coming in as well. Charities often have ways of getting more bang for your buck, so that money goes farther than you might think.
Money is merely a physical representation of an exchange of energy and is, therefore, sensitive to energy fluctuations in your life. You can affect your flow by affecting your flow, so to speak. Everything else you have attached to money, you have attached to it, even if it was unconsciously. Bring yourself as often as possible and as much as possible back to the understanding that money is a physical representation of an exchange of energy.
This post is part of a series called Monday Message, based on that day’s reflection from 365 Days to Enlightenment (authorized versions are currently out of print, working on a new edition). Check back next Monday for another one! You can also sign up for the Daily Message on my mailing list if you’d like to receive a new reflection every day. I also often post them to Instagram, if that’s a medium you enjoy.
