Passing through folds in the heliospheric current

Did you feel a drop in your energy on January 6th, starting around 19:30UTC (11:30am Pacific)? SpaceWeather says we may have passed through a fold in the heliospheric current sheet, a giant, wavy membrane of electrical current rippling through the solar system:

Yesterday, Jan. 6th, something unexpected happened in the soil of northern Norway. “Electrical currents started flowing,” reports Rob Stammes, who monitors ground currents at the Polarlightcenter geophysical observatory in Lofoten. This chart recording shows the sudden

“It seemed to be some kind of shockwave,” says Stammes. “My instruments detected a sudden, strong variation in both ground currents and our local magnetic field. It really was a surprise.”

NASA’s ACE spacecraft detected something as well. About 15 minutes before the disturbance in Norway, the interplanetary magnetic field (IMF) near Earth abruptly swung around 180 degrees, and the solar wind density jumped more than 5-fold. Earth may have crossed through a fold in the heliospheric current sheet–a giant, wavy membrane of electrical current rippling through the solar system. Such crossings can cause these kind of effects.

While currents flowed through the ground, auroras filled the sky. What a surprise!” says Elzein. “The auroras were sudden and dynamic, with fast-moving green needles and several purple fringes!”

The auroras and ground currents were caused by the same thing: Rapidly changing magnetic fields. High above Earth’s surface, magnetic vibrations shook loose energetic particles, which rained down on the upper atmosphere, creating auroras where they struck. Just below Earth’s surface, magnetic vibrations caused currents to flow, triggering Rob Stammes’ ground sensors.

“We couldn’t see the auroras in northern Norway because of cloud cover,” says Stammes, a little ruefully. “We had to be satisfied with the electricity underfoot.”

As I have written about before, when Sol aims her energy at Terra/Earth, she can be seen as trying to jolt or shock us into a course correction.

On a purely physical level, when we are bombarded by solar activity like this, even by a minor storm, it affects the electromagnetic field of the planet, which, in turn affects our personal electromagnetic fields. When your electromagnetic field is hit like this, you might feel more easily overwhelmed; some people get amped up, others need more rest. If you, like me, have issues with electronics, those issues might be heightened.

Under these conditions, I generally recommend:

  • cut out all processed sugar
  • eat as close to raw as possible, and up your protein intake
Fruit is your friend. Lightly steamed veggies, too. Avoid things that are too acidic (or too alkali), difficult to digest, or that take a long time to digest.
  • drink a lot of water with lemon (if you’re not on any prescription medication, grapefruit will also work); the more hydrated you are, the easier it is to bring yourself into alignment
  • ground ground ground ground GROUND
  • double up on your spiritual foundation – prayer, meditation, ritual, BREATHING
  • be kind to yourself, and kinder to others, since they will be feeling jangly without any idea of what’s going on or how to handle it
  • and move slowly, and with purpose
  • You may also find the meditation I just recorded to be helpful for adjusting your energy.

I’ll be looking more into the heliospheric current sheet and will update this post if more information develops.

      Dear Ayamanatara:

Many thanks for posting on this subject. I’ve been searching the web for information on the HCS and it’s effects, and this site is one of few that discuss it.

Is there a schedule for Earth passing through the sheet? If there is I’ve not been able to find one. As far as I can tell, it amplifies any energies reigning at the time. If you have another view on this, please let me know.

      Thanks again.

It looks like the cycle is 25-27 days, but I suspect it’s effect on us varies somewhat, because of the shape of it. “Due to the tilt of the magnetic axis in relation to the axis of rotation of the sun, the heliospheric current sheet flaps like a flag in the wind” “The heliospheric current sheet rotates along with the Sun once every 27 days, during which time the peaks and troughs of the skirt pass through the Earth’s magnetosphere, interacting with it”

Also – “The interplanetary electric field is caused by ions leaving the Sun, initially flowing along and parallel to the Sun’s magnetic field. But as the ions move further outwards, the azimuthal component of the Sun’s magnetic field becomes more influential, and protons are deflected to the south and electrons to the north, resulting in an electric field that compensates the magnetic forces”
