What’s going on? People are feeling out of sorts, a lot of people are getting sick, people are driving even more unconsciously than usual, everyone’s tired… Well, energetically, we have a lot on our plates.
Tonight is a New Moon in Pisces, and there are actually 6 planets in Pisces, including Uranus…
What the heck does that mean?
- Pisces is about dreaming, imagination, creativity, contemplation, seeking, and miracles.
- The New Moon is a time for planting new seeds and setting your intention for the coming cycle.
- Uranus is a planet of change, and it’s finishing up its seven-year cycle in Pisces (as in, it’s moving out on the 11th). So the culmination, the crescendo of change combined with introspection, dreaming big, and miracles is happening right now.
But wait! There’s more!
February was all about that paradigm shift I’ve been on about for months. The collective consciousness has had its cage rattled. The waters have been stirred (Pisces is a fish, right?). All of the muck from the bottom, all those issues we would rather ignore are rising to the top. On a global scale, this foments revolution. On a personal level, it makes us really uncomfortable, because the ego equates a lack of stability with evil. The ego would much rather we don’t change, don’t look at things that might cause us to grow.
Here’s the thing though — it’s a Free Will Universe. You get to choose how you deal with this. Unfortunately for your ego, the choices are (1) go with the flow of change, which means looking at those things in your own life that need to change and doing something about it, or (2) letting yourself get overwhelmed by fear and confusion. Hey, it’s still a choice…
Act now, and you also get…
We’re coming up on a double whammy of Spring Equinox and Mercury Retrograde within a little more than a week of each other. There is a moment at Equinox when everything is in perfect balance, and time stands still. Just a moment… and them WHAM! You are called to action and everything speeds up. Mercury Retrograde, on the other hand, is the Universe’s way of saying “Stop! Breathe. Look at how you got here. Are there any loose ends that need to be tied up? Now, where do you want to go from here?” Essentially, it’s that break you’re always asking for, but never want once you get it. So you have just under 4 weeks to get as much change in as you can before you’re on furlow and stuck doing some serious navel-gazing.
But that’s not all!
March 9th is the beginning of the Lenten season, which is all about sacrifice, surrender, and release. March 9th is also the start of the “final wave” of the Mayan calendar, and we become much more aware of what’s going on with everyone around us, the human race as a whole, and even the planet herself. That’s only 5 days off, which means we’re already starting to feel that. So it’s important to remember to differentiate between “mine” and “yours.” You may be getting hit with feelings and emotions that really aren’t yours.
So yeah, that’s a lot. Now that we’ve identified the challenges, let’s talk about solutions, tools and strategy.
Grounding. Grounding is incredibly important right now. Grounding is the best way to simultaneously get really present, make it easier to handle whatever comes your way, effect personal change, and speed up your vibration to match what’s going on in the energy of the planet. You can spot check if you’re grounded by seeing if you can feel the soles of your feet without moving them. Can’t feel your feet? You’re not in your body, not grounded. Don’t know how to ground? Click on the “Tools” tab and either buy my CD or scroll down the page and download the free MP3 of the Grounding Meditation.
Daily practice. The proverbial doo-doo is hitting the spinning blades of the proverbial air movement device. Hopefully you already have a daily practice you’re doing, but if you don’t, create one for yourself. It doesn’t have to be elaborate. Ground first thing in the morning, before you feed the kids or your dog or check your email. Set your intention for the day; have a plan. Look back at the end of the day, let go of things you don’t need to carry with you into tomorrow, acknowledge what (and how) you could have done better, and celebrate your victories, large and small. It really doesn’t have to be more complex than that, although it certainly can be of you would like it to be. The key is to do it every day, to the best of your ability, no matter what. It’s going to take you doing it for about 14 days straight to make a habit of it, so pay attention, really pay attention, for those first 14 days, and don’t skip it.
Take care of your stuff. No, I don’t mean your books and your CDs and your gardening implements, I mean the stuff you’re carrying around inside of you. Make some time for some introspection, and own your shadows. What could you stand to change about yourself? Which thought patterns and operating systems no longer serve you? What behaviors are you not proud of? Do you leave a trail of goodwill or negativity in your wake? Most people find it easiest to do this in an honest way by journaling (write it out). That way you can take along, hard look at it and make an honest appraisal, and then start to make a game plan to deal with it. Oh, and then follow through on that plan. Don’t forget that last bit.
Ask for help when you need it. Personal help and professional help. Don’t be shy. Most people actually are flattered when you ask them for help. Makes them feel useful.
Stop letting your ego, your inner child, or the voice of your parents in your head run the show! You are a grown adult, capable of reason and logic and making sane choices. Use those skills. Holding on to what someone said to you yesterday isn’t enhancing your calm or your ability to get things done. Letting your hurt feelings fester isn’t helping you breathe. The words can’t, always, and never only get in your way as a spiritual being. Each and every time you come up against that resistance, and those are all tools of the resistance (aka your negative ego), stop, close your eyes, take a deep breath, and let those feelings, thoughts, impulses, and emotions drop down through your body and out the soles of your feet into the earth, so that they can be recycled by Nature into something more useful. You know how plants turn carbon dioxide into oxygen? The earth can take those negative energies and transform them into something way better if you’ll let her.
That’s probably a good start. Let me know how it goes…
