Becoming the Goddess

Many years ago, my Guidance gave me a formula, an adjustable affirmation/mantra of sorts. It has helped me overcome all sorts of adversity, from talking myself down out of panic attacks to leaving an abusive relationship, and all sorts of things in between.

Over the years, I have refined it into an empowerment workshop, one that emphasizes the feminine/receptive polarity rather than the masculine/active polarity. What that means is that you receive the power, taking it into yourself, rather than doing a bunch of stuff to get empowered. While the affirmation remains the same,  the class evolves over time, as new points and exercises clarify in my mind. I had the honor to present the workshop at Pantheacon in 2012, and I’m teaching it again this weekend here in Los Angeles.

It’s my favorite kind of class – I am sharing a tool that is easily adaptable. Anyone can make it their own, based on their current needs. Even when I use it, it adapts to my life, sometimes changing from day to day. I even added in a new piece tonight that came to me while studying for a class I’m taking.

Mostly though, the best part is that it is a tool. I would much rather teach someone to fish than hand them a fish. There’s no way that anyone but you can empower you; anyone who says they can wants more of your power.

Along the way, we get to talk about the difference between active and receptive polarities, and how that push-pull powers the Universe, as well as Gnostic theology, creation myths, goddesses, and who we really want to be. All in the span of about 2 hours. I’ve tried to expand it into a larger class, but it like being a neat little package and won’t let me make it more complicated.

Becoming the Goddess: An Empowerment Workshop will be offered at The Crystal Matrix in Atwater Village on Saturday, October 4th, at 2pm. You can reserve your place in the class by calling the venue at 323-644-7625 or clicking the link in my calendar and registering. Ayamanatara also offers the class to private groups of 5 or more; you can email info@ayamanatara.com to inquire about scheduling a class in your home, office, or shop.

I STILL use your “I am the goddess” affirmation regularly. It is my touchstone for getting through derision, anxiety, overwhelming despair. Even when I have a hard time believing the words, I say them or write them, to remind me that whether or not I feel it, it still remains the truth. Thank you for that gift.

That should be “depression”, not derision
