A ritual for Spring

Spring PoppiesThis ritual was originally published in the April newsletter

If you, like me, like to set intentions and create abundance in the spring, here is my favorite spring ritual, best done under the New Moon:

    You’ll need:

  • a dinner roll
  • a nickel
  • a strip of paper
  • pen
  • some honey
  • a smallish candle (I usually use menorah candles)

Write on the strip of paper the most pie-in-the-sky outcome goal you can think of that you actually want to manifest. So, not money, but what you would want to do with said money.

Fold the paper 9 times.

Make a hole (not all the way through) in the dinner roll, and put your folded paper in it, with the nickel on top of that.
Pour some honey in the hole.
Put your candle in the honey.

Light the candle and let it burn out (keep an eye on it, though, sometimes the bread catches fire).

While it’s burning, tell bawdy jokes, get frisky with your partner, or any other such activity that comes to mind.

Once the candle has burned all the way down, some time within the next 3 days, throw the bread into running water (a stream, river, or the ocean).

See what happens in the next 9 months.
