This New Moon

Woo, there’s some stuff goin’ on!

Technically New Moon is on Sunday, and we were going to do ritual on Saturday night, but we ended up needing to reschedule our build weekend for The Shamanic Labyrinth Project, and won’t be in East Jesus this weekend, so the schedule is all a’jumble. Consequently, we’ll be observing the start of the new cycle tomorrow night in Griffith Park. Which is why I’m writing this now…

Also, I’m bored with writing about Mercury Retrograde.

Sun is in Capricorn, Moon is in Capricorn (or will be on the New Moon), Mercury is retrograde in Capricorn… That’s a lot of Sea Goat. Capricorn is a practical, no-nonsense sign, good for support, stability, and determination. With Mercury in Retrograde in this sign, you’ll have the opportunity to revisit how you approach these things and retool anything that’s not quite right (or really off).

Jupiter is also retrograde, in Virgo. Jupiter has a strong Ghost of Christmas Present vibe for me, so he’s about being super present and grateful for what you have, which then allows you to transcend time & space. Now is the only thing that’s real anyway. So flip him into the introspective space of retrograde and throw in that attention to detail from Virgo, and I feel like we’re going to be getting a lot of insights on why we do what we do, and what keeps us from being present.

Mars is in Scorpio, which can be really intense. Passion squared, essentially. You can channel that into action EASILY, but you’re likely to chafe against the slow-down energy of the retrogrades, which can turn that passion to anger. Which gives Jupiter the opportunity to “help you see” where you take yourself out of the now.

And this is the energy under which you get to set your intentions for the coming cycle. I always get asked what that means, which cycle. It’s your choice, really, but that pesky calendar might suggest for the next year. Which reminds me – 2016 is a Universal 9, the ending or wrap up of a longer cycle. So you might consider taking this year to clean up those messes you’ve made, to look back and what you’ve learned, and to contemplate what you need to do to become who you want to be.

Or you can just look at the next month, that’s completely valid too.

Either way, drop me a note if you’re local and want to join us tomorrow evening for a group thing.
