Winter Solstice into Full Moon

There’s some interesting energy to having a Full Moon within days of the darkest night of the year. Both are the apex of a cycle, but are somewhat the opposites of each other. The full moon is a reflection of the sun’s light, and always has a little bit of illusion to it for me. The darkness, on the other hand, has an aura of stark truths to it. Since both of these astrological events tend to have a sphere of influence of several days, one flows into the other rather smoothly.

The energy this week is, consequently, both surreal and a potentially rude awakening. One of the astrologers I read likened it to an ayahuasca trip – you find out a lot about yourself, but you might be hallucinating and purging while you’re doing it.

I posted yesterday to my Facebook page

As we pass through this portal, take a moment to reflect on the gifts in your life, as well as what you bring to the world.

As the light begins to return, allow yourself to be fully aware of what insights you have gained in the last 2 months. What do you know about yourself? About how you fit into the world? About your relationships? About your purpose?

What will you leave in the darkness as you step into the light?

I might add to that a suggestion to open yourself to the awareness of becoming aware of the illusions you’ve been holding, before they circle around to bite you.

Remember, you are the Light of the World!
