As I Walk Through Sacred Space…

As some of you may know, I am drawn to sacred spaces of all types. I refer to the last time I was in England as the “Church and Graveyard Tour.” On our first day in Iceland, we managed to find ourselves strolling through a lovely cemetery. It was quiet and peaceful, and still somehow vibrant.

I think the way we treat our dead says something about our society, how we view those who have gone before us, and our world view. There was an honoring, a wide spectrum of time, and such a mix of beliefs, all in this one cemetery.  Burial grounds are always sacred space to me, and spending time in them is soothing and serene.
