Sometimes, it’s really challenging to write about current astrological events when those events are happening (or looming), because it makes my head all muddled. This is one of those times. We’re moving into a series of three eclipses, the first one being on Wednesday in conjunction with the New Moon, and the last one being at the beginning of July. There’s some other astrological events going as well that I’m just not comprehending, no matter how much I look at them, because they’ve turned my brain into some sort of flavored gelatin. It doesn’t help that we’re having not-summer her in Southern California, and the damp is affecting my pain levels, or that I still am processing some sort of release that is manifesting as a sinus infection. Actually, they probably all go together.
Ok, eclipses. Right.
Depending on who you ask, eclipses are either really important or not at all, unless they have something important/relevant to do with your own personal chart. Astrologers have a lot of varied opinions about things.
Eclipses accelerate or intensify changes that are already occurring, or are being brought about by other astrological events. That is to say, if you’re in the process of getting rid of something (probably mentally or emotionally), or you’ve set things in motion that might be precipitating said changes, this week may feel a little whirlwind for you. You might even feel broadsided by the changes, regardless of how consciously you set them in motion.
If change is not in y0ur immediate future, you might still feel a bit frustrated, as there can also be stop-start sort of energy going on. According to astrologer Dane Rudhyar, a Solar Eclipse is a time to step back and tune into the past and our feelings. This conflicts with the New Moon energy of wanting to start new things. So there’s that.
Eclipses will also help with the uncover-discover-discard process. They tend to unearth what has previously been hidden, usually bringing insights about ourselves. If you’re not an android, you may find this uncomfortable (and if you *are* an android, I’m really confused about why you’re reading this blog). Those insights are for the best, they give us the opportunity to change and grow, but humans don’t like that much.
You see, the Negative Ego tells us that anything that lacks stability is evil, in part because that kept us alive way back in history. Less useful now, honestly, rather like the appendix. Speaking of which, I have been hearing about an astounding number of people having emergency appendectomies in the last 2 weeks. Could be related, could be meatcake.
Right, eclipses. Adjusting course.
So, the last time we had 3 eclipses together like this (they tend to happen in pairs, not threes) was the summer of 2009. If you can remember what the summer of 2009 was like, more power to you. I mean, there might be some similarities.
Anyway, most of the astrologers do agree that this solar eclipse on Wednesday is nothing to be too concerned about. The lunar eclipse on June 15th, on the other hand, could be a doozy. That’s also the Full Moon, by the way, which makes everyone a little squirrelly. Lunar eclipses are about letting go of the past and stepping into the now, so be ready for a bunch of illusions to go up in smoke, personally and globally. And then we finish the cycle off on July 1st with another solar eclipse, which may be a bit emotional for some of us. One of the astrology blogs I read, MoonPluto Astrology, suggests that the best way through some of this might be to just give up and set yourself adrift. I don’t think I have any give up in my chart, but you’re welcome to try that.
Astrogrrl, another astrology blog I follow, reminds us to approach this, as all things, with consciousnes and willingness. She says that eclipses merely speed up our transitions and the difficulty we experience is related to (1) the readiness of the individual to tackle these challenges; (2) his/her willingness to do the work required; and (3) his/her commitment to the cause/s which is really the self and its growth. So, as always, I ask you to consider how present you are.
Of course, if you’re sensitive to energy shifts, your brain might also be made out of pudding. Or gelatin. There are some fun little solar storms and flares going on right now that make everything more challenging, plus the aforementioned astrological events that I can’t seem to comprehend at the moment. So being present might not be where you’re at, so to speak. In which case, maybe setting yourself adrift is the way to go.
Apparently, I got nothin’…
Ooooh I had to respond when I saw that you linked me. Thanks for the link, btw. What I meant in my post was that one shouldn’t be too attached to a strict version of a desire. I mean, in the example I used, the person was a writer and gave up… being a songwriter and being a kids’ book writer, but then at the end of the day? He was still a writer but writing something else (for tv) .What they were giving up was a kind of rigid thinking. And giving themselves more options to succeed by, yes, giving up being married to ONE idea. I hope that makes sense! And thanks for reading 🙂
totally makes sense. my brain was mush last night. thanks for the explanation!
