The Long Night…
The phenomenon of waning sunlight is central to the observance of Winter Solstice. Each day, as the sun rises on the eastern horizon, it moves a couple degrees north or south. The closer to summer solstice, the further north the sun will rise and set; the closer to winter solstice, the further south. Interestingly, at the solstices, the sun will rise and set at the same degree three days in a row.
A lot can happen in three days.
Join us for quiet, shamanic moment to honor the ancestors who brought us here, and shed our outmoded forms, before setting our intention for the calendar year to come.
And feasting. Because feasting.
Please bring a candle in class (white, red, or green); a small, empty, lidded container (glass is preferable); and a dish to share (please include a card with a list of ingredients so people can police their own allergies and sensitivities).
