Ayamanatara has developed a modality of sound therapy, incorporating singing bowls, mindfulness, somatics, entrainment, and coaching, that works on PTSD, addictive thinking, disordered sleep patterns, pain tolerance, anxiety, and the symptoms of ADD/ADHD. She has been offering this in a group/treatment center setting for 5 years, and is now opening it up for private sessions. These private sessions allow for more personalized, targeted work based on the needs of each client.
Singing bowls produce sounds which invoke a deep state of relaxation which naturally assists one in entering into meditation. They balance the hemispheres of the brain and stimulate Delta Brainwaves, which are the predominant pattern during Stage 4 sleep.
Mindfulness is the basic human ability to be fully present, aware of where we are and what we’re doing, and not overly reactive or overwhelmed by what’s going on around us and within ourselves.
Somatic therapy is a holistic therapy that studies the relationship between the mind and body in regard to psychological past. The theory behind somatic therapy is that trauma symptoms are the effects of instability of the ANS (autonomic nervous system). Past traumas disrupt the ANS. According to somatic psychologists, our bodies hold on to past traumas which are reflected in our body language, posture and also expressions. In some cases past traumas may manifest physical symptoms like pain, digestive issues, hormonal imbalances, sexual dysfunction and immune system dysfunction, medical issues, depression, anxiety and addiction. Combining these three forms of healing or treatment, along with coaching, allows this type of Sound Therapy to help the client quickly repattern their brain and change habitual behaviors while teaching them to use their own body to move out of crisis.
