I hope you'll forgive the... what is that? It's not quite a pun...

Anyway, Happy Holidays!

This is the week of the last New Moon of the calendar year. The new moon is a time of new beginnings that can come to fruition at the next full moon. The new moon is always an opportunity to reflect on our choices, evaluate how we reached this point, and to make healthier choices going forward.

This New Moon is a potent one, and is in Sagittarius, which tends to make for fiery enthusiasm. The qualities of idealism, optimism, and intelligence are highlighted. Sagittarius governs expansion, growth, wisdom, travel, higher education, opportunity and abundance. This is a time of optimism and dreams; the moon seeks knowledge.

Last night, we did ritual, as we do every month. We started by taking stock of who we are and where we are on our life's paths. I asked people to consider the following questions:

Who are you?
What is your personal philosophy?
What rules and guidelines do you set for yourself?
What is important to you?
What's a deal breaker, in yourself or others?

Where do you honor yourself?
Where do you NOT honor yourself?

Where are you on your life's path right now?
What is working in your life?
What isn't working?
What are you ready to let go of?
What do you feel you might want to let go of but are afraid?

We then did some conscious releasing, followed by going into the womb of the Universe in order to manifest our passions.

I closed with a reading from DH Lawrence:
For when it is quite, quite nothing, then it is everything.
When I am trodden quite out, quite, quite out,
Every vestige gone, then I am here
Risen, and setting my foot on another world
Risen, accomplishing a resurrection
Risen, not born again, but risen, body same as before,
New beyond knowledge of newness, alive beyond life,
Proud beyond inkling or furthest conception of pride,
Living where life was never yet dreamed of, nor hinted at,
Here, in the other world, still terrestrial
Myself, the same as before, yet unaccountably new.
(New Heaven and Earth)
We'll be celebrating Yule on Sunday in Brentwood, if you'd like to join us. Details can be found under "Classes and Events."

May the season put you in touch with your joy if you've lost that connection, or increase the joy in your life if you've already been in awareness of it!

Blessings,
Ayamanatara
